I started in recruitment way back in 1984 at Michael Page, when it was just a small 5 office business in UK. I learnt loads about working in a small, energetic, fully focused team that knew the value of teamwork. They invented the term ‘work hard, play hard! I eventually left and started Nicholas Andrews in 1987 with my business partner. Over the next 14 years we grew the business to 14 offices and 150 staff, then sold it to Manpower. I had a couple of years off and in 2004, started Andrew Farr Associates. Ably supported by many ex Nicholas Andrews employees, this new venture grew to 7 offices and 50 staff. I then sold the business to Randstad in 2008. Since then I have been involved as an investor to numerous small companies.
I have lots of experience in recruitment – I have worked in marketing recruitment since 2011 and have thoroughly enjoyed every minute – I now have the benefit of working in a small town looking over rolling hills and countryside – idyllic ! I enjoy working with a diverse range of candidates and clients from manufacturers to professional services. Everyday is different I love recruitment and couldn’t imagine doing anything different.
Outside of work I chill by going to Pilates up to 4 times a week and combine with this meditation and mindfulness. That’s sounds all very well – however I also love afternoon tea – especially the cake so most weekends will involve a little indulgence……

After studying within Equine Science, I decided to put my education to use and become a Recruitment Consultant…Haha I’m not kidding! I originally fell into the world of recruitment after speaking with a recruitment company about a role I was applying for. After a lengthy conversation, we established, I love speaking to new people, building relationships and creating opportunity. Forget the horses, recruitment was actually the perfect career path for me…6 years later, I haven’t looked back! Having worked within the Automotive, Sales & Events industry; Sales is most definitely my “cup of tea” when it comes to industries so here I am!
Marketing - Managing Consultant
I have a creative background, which is how my career began. I soon found that I was enjoying the sales side of my role more and more. I knew that I wanted to marry the creative with the sales aspect and decided to go into marketing recruitment. Throughout the past 3 years I have dedicated my career to getting to know the ins and outs of marketing, digital and communications. During this period I have thoroughly enjoyed getting to know marketers, understanding their strengths and placing them in roles that allow them to progress and achieve.
After working within the Aerospace Industry for 6 years, I decided it was time for a change…. A new challenge. I thoroughly enjoy talking to new people and finding out their backgrounds, so I just knew I needed a job that would involve exactly that. I was extremely lucky to be given the chance to join an amazing team of recruiters. I just know, I will never be looking back!

I started my career in Recruitment in 2004, I went to register with an agency and they offered me a position with them and I have never left the sector. I have 15 years’ experience recruiting and have covered many sectors during this time the last 11 have been recruiting HR and Operational Business Services to Director level. Prior to this I recruited into the Event and Hospitality Sector. During my career I have also won awards and secured many clients based on my levels of understanding of skills and customer service.
I am proud to say I only work with clients that I truly believe in their vision and brand. We spend a third of lives at work and I am a firm believer that we should not settled for a job but find an employer that offer you the career that you want. I think of myself as an extension of my clients recruitment process and actually listen to find the perfect match.
I started working in recruitment over 20 years ago and during the last 10 years have worked predominantly in IT positions advising on, and implementing hardware, software and digital presence strategies for a number of recruitment companies. I am happiest with my head stuck in a laptop or server, or doing some late night coding on my latest web project.
