A fabulous opportunity to join a midlands based leading manufacturer and supplier of pioneering heating and cooling solutions as a Technical Publications Author from their Birmingham HQ.
What will you do as Technical Author?
- Work closely with the product and engineering teams, taking complex information to create, update and maintain technical documentation product ranges for OEM customers and Aftersales support teams.
- Develop and maintain product technical manuals, installation guidelines, service schedules and bulletins, spare parts guides, and other technical support documentation for product ranges
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Engineering, Advanced Product Development, Aftersales Service and Marketing to gather information and ensure accuracy of technical content
- Research and interpret engineering drawings, models, schematics, and specifications to create comprehensive documentation suitable for product support in the field
- Manage documentation revisions and updates to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and industry best practices
- Coordinate translation and localisation of technical publications for international markets
- Standardise the format and content of our manuals and develop a comprehensive set of documentation
What do you need as Technical Author?
- Proven experience as a Technical Writer or Technical Publications Author in the automotive industry, preferably within the commercial vehicle sector
- Strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills and a good understanding of engineering principles. Knowledge of refrigeration or air conditioning would be advantageous
- Proficiency in 3D CAD software (Solid Works) and experience working with engineering drawings and schematics (design skills are not required for this role)
- Qualifications in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical or Refrigerant) or Technical Writing related field would be beneficial.
